Shiny is a strategic creative services agency based in Wilmington, DE. Our goal is to create work that matters for our clients, and that drives their business to greater success. We work across digital and traditional touchpoints, multiple industries, and both b2b and b2c. We have a niche in helping commoditized financial services breakthrough by creating ruthlessly customer-centric creative that moves people to action.

We are looking to expand our team with a new, senior level Client Services hire that can help us build solid client relationships and grow the agency.

Senior Account Director Job Description

The Senior Account Director (Sr. AD) will be responsible for maximizing clients’ satisfaction and engagement and driving financial account growth on assigned accounts. They will serve as a manager, mentor, and thought leader who will lead assigned client relationships. This entails leading and overseeing client interactions and cultivating client relationships. This new hire needs to have an entrepreneurial spirit, a desire to drive growth, and an interest in being an active member of a team that is building a remarkable agency. This role will have an Account Manager (AM) as a direct report.

The Sr. AD reports to Shiny’s President/CEO.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cultivate Client Relationships – The Sr. AD will be responsible for owning and driving relationships on assigned accounts.
  • Drive Profitable Revenue Growth — The Sr. AD will be responsible for growing existing client relationships, directly and via support by the larger Shiny team. In this capacity the Sr. AD will work closely with the President/CEO on monthly revenue projections and evaluating client profitability.
  • Provide Strategic Direction – The Sr. AD will provide strategic direction by monitoring customer satisfaction and industry trends and then recommending new projects and solutions based on their findings.
  • Resolve Client Issues – The Sr. AD will run point on resolving issues while complying with agreed-upon scopes of work. In addition, the Sr. AD will regularly inform the President/CEO about any major service problems.
  • Coach and Hire Team Members – The Sr. AD will take an active role in career development for the AM working under their direction.
  • Thought Leadership – The Sr. AD will be asked to stay on top of trends in the industry and publish content to the agency’s social platform that reinforces our commitment to leading our clients into the future with forward-thinking solutions.

Skills and Qualifications

The Sr. AD is attuned to customer needs and translates them into sold projects. They will need to be a self-starter that will push projects to completion and respond to changing customer demands. In addition to having at least 7 years of agency experience, this role should possess the following skills:

Leadership & Collaboration Skills – work effectively with other Shiny team members in the delivery of sold work and in demonstrating our ongoing value to assigned clients to help deepen our relationships

Data Analysis –skilled at data analysis, synthesizing market research, feedback (internal and external), and sales statistics to determine how to improve customer satisfaction.

Client Service – keep the client experience in mind throughout all their tasks, whether they’re negotiating contracts with clients or rethinking process flow for increased efficiency.

Problem-solving skills –they must be adept problem solvers and capable of thinking quickly even in urgent critical situations.

Organization Skills – track several projects, client accounts, and activities simultaneously, and they must maintain a comprehensive vision of all these to steer Shiny towards its client support goals.

Experience & Education

  • 7+ years in a fast-paced, professional environment, agency experience preferred
  • Experience in financial services marketing strongly preferred
  • College degree is preferred but not required

Annual salary range: $85,000 – $100,000
