Katy Thorbahn

President/CEO

Katy Thorbahn is President/CEO at Shiny, having joined the business in 2015. Before Shiny Katy spent 15 years at Razorfish in Philadelphia first leading the agency’s client engagement team and then taking on full agency management responsibilities. During her time with the business it evolved from being focused on digital media planning and buying to become a full-service digitally centered agency with capabilities across media, search, analytics, creative, and strategic development. Clients included J&J, University of Delaware, Pfizer, Medtronic Diabetes, Philly.com and AstraZeneca.

Shannon Stevens

Chief Creative Officer

Shannon co-founded Shiny in 2005 and continues to lead the creative vision as Chief Creative Officer, shaping creative strategy and working closely with clients.

Previous to Shiny, his work has spanned national print and TV campaigns for Ramada, Avis, Century 21 and Cendant Mortgage. He has also helped pioneer some of the pre & post dotcom online display strategies for major brands, such as Alaska Airlines, Discovery, Expedia and Microsoft.

Shannon is also the imagination behind El Diablo Burritos overarching strategy, branding and design. With it’s quirky sensibility, post modern style and lively characters, El Diablo has become a thriving success and a favorite among locals.

John Avondolio

Chief Strategy Officer Emeritus

John Avondolio joined Shiny in 2015 as a partner heading up the client engagement department. While John technically retired in 2022, he continues to support Shiny’s clients on an ad hoc basis.

Previous to joining Shiny, John spent 11 years leading client engagement and strategy at Razorfish in Philadelphia. He has helped to shape digital strategies for national brands including PNC Bank, Expedia, Dr. Scholl’s, Coppertone, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, PC Mag.com and Tamiflu among others. John also led the national marketing and communications for two years at Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
